Qualifications

• Valid substitute teaching license/permit as required by state/diocese.
• Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational setting.
• Ability to follow directions and manage a classroom effectively.

Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular teacher.
• Deliver instruction across various subjects and grade levels (typically K–8 or high school, depending on assignment).
• Maintain classroom order and enforce school rules and policies.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
• Take attendance and manage daily classroom routines.
• Adapt to different classrooms, subjects, and grade levels as needed.
• Communicate relevant information about student behavior or progress to school staff.
• Supervise students during class, transitions, lunch, recess, or dismissal as assigned.
• Respect and support the Catholic identity and mission of the school, including participation in prayer or religious activities when appropriate.
