Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead after-school chess classes in Birmingham, MI. You’ll engage elementary students with our curriculum, foster good sportsmanship, and create a fun learning environment after school.

Responsibilities include guiding 10–15 kids per session, traveling to local schools, arriving prepared and on time, and promoting problem solving through chess. Mileage reimbursement is provided for longer trips.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational or recreational settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create engaging, fun sessions.
• Strong chess knowledge and ability to explain piece movement and basic tactics for kids.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using our structured curriculum and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
