Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. seeks enthusiastic instructors for after-school chess sessions in Birmingham, MI. This fall-start role offers a fun, student-centered classroom environment where you will lead 10-15 elementary students through our curriculum and foster sportsmanship.

Earn $50-65 per class (about 1.5 hours per session). You can teach 1–5 classes weekly, with travel mileage reimbursed beyond 15 miles. Training, curriculum, and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, engaging sessions.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging chess classes for elementary students (10-15 kids).
• Teach chess fundamentals using our curriculum.
• Maintain a positive, safe classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Comply with school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and activities.
• Travel between local school sites for sessions.
