Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. You will live in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students, and ensure a structured family-like environment that fosters academic and social development.

The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Campus is smoke-free and weapon-free; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one approved dog.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Support different student homes initially, then transition to a single home.
