Job summary

Duke Energy in Raleigh, NC seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I/II to perform preventive maintenance, inspections and basic repairs on utility vehicles and equipment. This role covers generators, forklifts, aerial equipment and trucks and requires adherence to FMCSR/DOT regulations.

You will diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, assist more senior technicians, and ensure safety and reliability of the fleet in a fast-paced utility environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics.
• One year of related experience for Technician I; two years for Technician II.
• High school diploma with related experience acceptable in lieu of formal degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light and medium vehicles.
• Conduct diagnostics and repairs on vehicles and powered equipment.
• Assist with FMCSR and DOT inspections and related documentation.
• Maintain technical competence to diagnose and repair vehicles/equipment.
• Assist with hydraulic brake and air brake system inspections and repairs.
