Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is hiring a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on a range of light to heavy vehicles and equipment at our local facility in New York. The role involves troubleshooting, running inspections, and assisting more senior technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics from a vocational school; OR at least one year of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain a Class A CDL license within 6 months of hire date.
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and/or push at least 100 lbs. multiple times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light & medium duty vehicles/equipment and assist higher classification of technicians with PMs on all vehicles and equipment.
• Assist with Federal DOT inspections and dielectric test inspections.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on light and medium vehicles, forklifts, trailers, and powered equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair basic electrical system components and A/C systems.
