Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation in Plainfield, IN seeks a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light and medium duty vehicles and equipment.

Requires an associates degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics or 1 year related experience; must obtain a Class A CDL within 6 months; candidates must be able to lift 100 lb and work in a garage environment; travel 5-15% and onsite at a company facility.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics from a vocational school; OR at least one year of related work experience.
• Must successfully obtain and maintain a Class A CDL license within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on light and medium vehicles and assist higher classification of technicians with PMs on all vehicles and equipment.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on light and medium vehicles, (gas & diesel) forklifts, trailers, and powered equipment.
• Maintain the appropriate level of technical competence required to diagnose and repair vehicles/equipment.
• Perform hydraulic brake systems and component repairs.
• Complete training requirements for Vehicle Maintenance Technician I in the timeframe established by the Company.
