Job summary

SP+, a Metropolis company, is seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to ensure safe and reliable fleet operations. Responsibilities include inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs to meet SP+ Fleet Services standards.

Applicants should have a High School degree (technical training preferred), ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Some shifts (including 2nd/3rd or weekends) may be required. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Degree or equivalent; technical school a plus; prior mechanic experience preferred.
• Certifications: Possess or willing to obtain all applicable ASE certifications.
• License: Valid state-issued driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record.
• DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
• Hand Tools: Must have all necessary hand tools to perform maintenance duties.
• Availability to Work: 2nd/3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.
• Minimum Age: Must be 21 years of age or older
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Appearance: Maintain neat and clean appearance in uniform.
• Physical Demands: Stand, walk, lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and passenger comfort.
• Perform quality maintenance inspections and repairs on all assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Perform duties in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
• Maintain technical competency and engage in ongoing training and development.
