Job summary

SP+ is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician in Houston to perform thorough inspections and quality repairs on fleet vehicles to keep revenue service safe and reliable.

Maintain vehicles to SP+ Fleet Services standards, pursue ASE certifications, and hold the appropriate CDL per location while complying with DOT rules and wearing a neat uniform. This role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required; technical school certification a plus.
• Prior experience as a Mechanic or Vehicle Maintenance Technician with heavy fleet vehicles preferred.
• ASE certifications possessed or willingness to obtain.
• CDL Class A/B/C with Passenger Endorsement may be required depending on location; exceptions for smaller passenger capacity.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Must have all necessary hand tools to perform maintenance duties.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, and present information to customers and employees.
• Ability to perform basic math with money and units.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform quality maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Maintain safety, reliability, and passenger comfort to contract standards.
• Perform maintenance duties in a safe, cost-efficient manner.
• Pursue ongoing training and remain technically competent in equipment and vehicles.
