Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE), an Akima company, seeks a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher to support the PFPA LSS program for one year. The position will end in October 2027 and acts as a liaison between motor vehicle operators and PFPA Fleet Management to monitor incidents and provide follow-up communications.

On-site in Arlington, VA, the dispatcher will schedule and dispatch vehicles, monitor alarms, maintain logs, process documents, and assist operators during breakdowns while ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of dispatcher experience.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of dispatch codes and phonetic alphabet.
• Ability to work extended hours under stressful conditions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Secret or higher clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch vehicles (passenger, cargo, bus).
• Monitor alarms and ensure communication equipment serviceability.
• Maintain vehicle logs and calculate penalties using fleet systems.
• Keep records of mileage, fuel usage and costs.
• Process documents, enter police data, and manage inspections.
• Assist operators during breakdowns and resolve complaints.
• Update files and logs via computer systems.
• Assign vehicles based on trip length, purpose, and user needs.
• Issue keys, record sheets, and driver credentials.
• Record departure times, destinations, cargo, ETA, and investigates delays.
• Coordinate with customers to locate missing or delayed items.
• Establish routes, supervise loading/unloading, and allocate equipment.
