Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Transportation Motor Pool Yard Dog to maintain safety and order in the motor pool area. The role involves interacting with dispatchers, schedulers, and supervisors to coordinate duties, perform safety checks, and assist with basic vehicle servicing.

Responsibilities include keeping buses and equipment operational, topping fluids, and maintaining a clean yard. The position requires a high school diploma and the ability to obtain a CAC and pass

Qualifications

• Proven ability to operate motor pool equipment safely.
• Familiarity with motorized vehicles and basic fleet maintenance.
• Commitment to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Ability to obtain a CAC and a REAL ID-compliant license.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with bus dispatchers, schedulers, and TMP supervisors about duties.
• Understand logistics blending driving, equipment maintenance, and fleet coordination.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles on a rotational basis.
• Assist with vehicle servicing, fueling, and minor repairs as needed.
• Ensure buses and vehicles are operational with fluids topped up.
• Maintain organized motor pool areas and report condition of equipment.
• Coordinate with TMP for movement of the GSA fleet within the yard.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
