Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet in top condition, ensuring preventive maintenance and timely repairs. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in diagnostics, and adherence to industry regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience as a maintenance tech, and a valid CDL when required. You must read precision instruments and perform mechanical/electrical troubleshooting while maintaining a strong safety record.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Valid CDL when required.
• Ability to read precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.).
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Willingness to participate in training classes offered by the company.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required by the department.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other failures in trucks, trailers and related equipment.
• Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators and dial gauges to support repairs.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of component parts and systems on trucks and trailers; weld when applicable.
