Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to repair company equipment in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairing trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

The role requires reading precision instruments, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and welding when needed. Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules is essential, along with owning the necessary tools and, when required, a

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or similar.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Working knowledge of systems on trucks, trailers, or dollies.
• Proficient at reading precision instruments and performing measurements.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on components and systems.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA regulations.
• Willingness to participate in training classes offered by the company.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain company equipment, including preventative maintenance and diagnostics.
• Build, rebuild and repair parts as required in the department.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns on trucks or related equipment.
• Read and interpret precision instruments and electronic diagnostics.
• Use welding skills where applicable to repair trucks and dollies.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA regulations.
• Perform duties and tasks as assigned.
