Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Edgerton, KS is seeking a Trailer Technician to perform basic maintenance, service and repair to trailers, containers and chassis. Under supervision, you will ensure equipment meets company standards at all times and support fleet operations.

The role requires basic tools, outdoor work, shift flexibility and customer-facing communication. Opportunities exist across levels with competitive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements.
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections.
• Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
