Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a Trailer Technician I to perform basic maintenance, service and repair on trailers, containers, chassis and related equipment under close supervision.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, completing work orders, and following safety procedures while communicating professionally with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers. Candidates should be able to work outdoors, on multiple shifts, including nights and weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with 1 year of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair.
• Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and standard repairs related to trailer equipment, including air brake systems and FHWA inspections
• Accurately perform basic repairs up to company and manufacturer’s specifications, complete work orders and demonstrate understanding of company requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines
• Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers
