Job summary

City of Austin invites applications for a Fleet Tire Technician to maintain tire inventories, diagnose issues, and service tires across city vehicles and equipment. The role involves transporting tires, mounting/dismounting, and performing field checks while adhering to safety procedures.

Under supervision, you will support multiple departments and help sustain fleet readiness. A CDL may be required within 120 days; CTS certification is a preferred qualification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus six months of related field experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and diagnoses damaged tires and recalls or warranty coverage.
• Repairs or disposes of used tires as appropriate.
• Transports tires between locations.
• Maintains tire inventory records.
• Mounts and dismounts tires on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Performs air pressure tire checks in field locations.
