Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking a Tire Technician to support fleet maintenance by installing and inspecting tires and rims on tractor-trailers. You will remove and install tire assemblies on class 6-8 trucks and use hydraulic jacks and tire machines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to work in the United States, and reading/writing English. Preferred experience with tire mechanics and diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform duties and review documents.

Responsibilities

• Removes and installs tire and rim assemblies on class 6, 7, 8 trucks, trailers, and converter dollies.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and stands to access units and replace tire assemblies.
• Operates, lifts, moves, and stores equipment to maintain, inspect, and repair tires or rims.
• Repairs tires outside the maintenance facility using a service truck.
• Inspects tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Disposes of old tires in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Mounts and dismounts tires or rims using tire machines.
