Job summary

Saia is seeking a Tire & Rim Technician to support fleet maintenance by installing and inspecting tires and rims on tractor-trailers. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills and safe operation of hydraulic jacks and tire equipment.

You will remove and install tire assemblies on class 6–8 trucks, inspect wear and inflation, and dispose of tires responsibly. 2 years of tire mechanic experience preferred; pay $26.55–$30.30/hr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years tire mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong reading/writing and communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Removes and installs tire and rim assemblies on class 6–8 trucks and trailers.
• Uses hydraulic jacks and stands to access units and replace tire assemblies.
• Operates, lifts, moves, and stores specialized equipment to service tires and rims.
• Repairs tires outside the maintenance facility using a service truck.
• Inspects tires for wear, damage and proper inflation.
• Disposes of old tires per environmental regulations.
• Mounts and dismounts tires or rims using specialized tire machines.
