Job summary
Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet tech across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.
You will perform basic 12V/24V wiring, route and secure wiring for clean installations, travel to customer sites for mobile projects, and uphold safety, quality, and right-first-time workmanship.
Qualifications
- Hands-on automotive, electrical, or installation experience.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and use hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in mobile environments.
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
- Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
- Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
- Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
- Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
- Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
- Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
- Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
