Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers. This is a hands-on role for someone with automotive, mechanical, electrical, fleet, or installation background who enjoys learning new technology.

You will travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations, perform basic 12V/24V wiring, test systems, and document installations

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive experience or electrical work.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, pro installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
