Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves installing and supporting GPS, telematics, cameras and other fleet technology on cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

You’ll bring an automotive or installation background and have the opportunity to learn new technology while traveling to customer sites for mobile installations. We value safety, quality, and right-first-time work, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in, around, and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
