Ameren Missouri has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and our electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Our mission is to power the quality of life for our 1.2 million electric and 132,000 natural gas customers in central and eastern Missouri. Our service area covers 64 counties and more than 500 communities including the greater St. Louis area.

- Hourly Rate Range: $43.43 - 52.65

- Hours: PM rotating 4‑10s – First week Monday‑Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, next week Tuesday‑Friday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, thus having a 4‑day weekend every other weekend.
- Owl shift: Tuesday‑Friday 9 pm to 7:30 am. Shift starts at 9 pm Monday night and ends Friday morning at 7:30 am, then resumes Monday 9 pm.
DUTIES
- Overhaul motors, transmissions, and differentials.
- Analyze motors.
- Overhaul and adjust brake systems.
- Repair, overhaul and align vehicle front‑end and steering systems.
- Repack, adjust, or replace bearings.
- Repair and overhaul fuel systems.
- Repair and overhaul cooling systems.
- Install, repair and overhaul electrical systems.
- Do welding.
- Make minor fender and body repairs.
- Paint or touch up.
- Make modifications on equipment as required.
- Install crew cab glass.
- Repair or replace suspension systems.
- Repair or replace tires.
- Balance wheels.
- Replace or repair components of construction equipment and power‑take‑off driven equipment.
- Maintain small powered equipment.
- Attend garage gasoline service station, as required.
- Make service calls.
SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure proper care and use of tools, materials, and shop equipment.
- Respond to calls quickly and restore equipment to service in minimum time.
- Work with precision when making close adjustments.
- Conduct close, careful inspection and adjustment of equipment to protect operators and equipment.
- Follow safe working practices.
CONTACTS
- Frequent contact with Stores Department employees and distributors for parts and materials.
- Interaction with field or shop personnel whose equipment requires work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Exposed to outside weather conditions; must dress for indoor and outdoor work.
- Subject to irritations from gas, oil, solvents, fumes, damp and drafty conditions.
HAZARDS
- Risk of skin abrasions.
- Risk of eye injury from foreign particles.
- Hazards of carbon monoxide gas.
- Hazard of working under and around equipment.
- Exposure to street and highway traffic.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from high school or successful completion of a recognized high school equivalency examination.
- Successful completion of an approved educational program in automotive maintenance or its equivalent is preferred and shall have performed satisfactorily for two years in an automotive maintenance facility as a repair technician or equivalent.
- An additional five years of satisfactory performance in an automotive maintenance facility as a repair technician will be considered in lieu of completion of an approved educational program.
- Must be able to meet and deal with people, be willing to work alone for considerable periods, be active and physically able with average strength and endurance.
- Must be a competent operator of equipment and be able to qualify for chauffeur’s license.
- Must successfully complete all testing requirements related to this classification.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid class (A) CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement.
Hourly Pay
- Grade Step IA 150 Step 1 of 5 – $44.73 USD
- Grade Step IA 150 Step 2 of 5 – $46.65 USD
- Grade Step IA 150 Step 3 of 5 – $49.34 USD
- Grade Step IA 150 Step 4 of 5 – $51.02 USD
- Grade Step IA 150 Step 5 of 5 (Top Step) – $54.23 USD
