Velocity Vehicle Group in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Fleet Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks. You will perform inspections, road tests, and component upgrades under the supervision of the Service Manager and senior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field.
• Must have valid Class B Driver’s License.
• Ability to follow all written and oral instructions and maintain safety standards.
• Attention to detail, dependability, and clear verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose minor mechanical and electrical problems under supervision.
• Road test vehicles to ensure repair quality and identify concerns.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and oil changes.
• Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs as required.
• Mentor lesser-qualified technicians and participate in training.
• Comply with federal/state vehicle requirements and safety standards.
