Job summary

Velocity Vehicle Group is seeking a Fleet Technician in Birmingham, AL. You will diagnose minor and major mechanical and electrical issues on heavy-duty trucks, conduct road tests, and ensure repairs comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Opportunities for mentorship and ongoing training are available. Requirements include 4+ years in automotive/heavy truck inspection and repair, a valid Class B CDL, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred.
• 4 years’ experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field.
• Must have valid Class B Driver’s License.
• Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions; attention to detail and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy truck mechanical and electrical systems per standard practices and regulations.
• Road test vehicles after service to verify repairs and quality.
• Lead or mentor junior technicians as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and basic repairs; identify worn parts and perform necessary replacements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service, parts, and inspections.
