Job summary

Perdue Farms' Perdue Transportation Incorporated is seeking a hands-on Fleet Technician to keep our equipment safe, reliable, and up to date. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, execute major repairs, and provide technical guidance within the shop.

We value teamwork, continuous learning, and adherence to DOT and company safety standards, with a Sunday–Thursday 3pm–11:30pm schedule and opportunities to grow your skills in a fast-paced, driver-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 1-year mechanical repair or training.
  • Mechanical repair experience for Intermediate Level: Minimum 3 years direct fleet/heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and service vehicle systems including brakes, air systems, electrical, hydraulics, and driveline components.
  • Utilize shop computer systems and OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Mack, Volvo, International) to identify equipment failures and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • (Senior Level) Proficiently service engine emission systems, internal engine components, HVAC, and perform welding or fabrication.
  • Accurately complete work orders and evaluate repairs prior to releasing vehicles to service to ensure compliance with DOT and company standards.
  • Respond to road calls and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Senior technicians will mentor and guide Level I and II technicians, supporting repair strategy decisions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
