This Diesel Fleet Technician role diagnoses, repairs, and maintains vehicles to keep operations moving, with daily safety inspections and a focus on timeliness and precision. This position offers a target wage of $21.00 - $35.50 per hour, depending on shift, experience, and qualifications, with annual bonus

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating repair shop equipment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills, bringing demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety inspections and annual training as required by fleet manager.
• Diagnose issues and determine corrective action through inspections of failed parts.
• Utilize shop computer to diagnose equipment across brands as needed.
• Must have appropriate mechanical tool set and follow safety regulations.
• Train and lead other technicians in completing repair assignments.
• Provide road calls and emergency services as necessary in all weather.

Summary

Step into a critical role that keeps our fleet running strong as a Diesel Fleet Technician. In this position, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will collaborate closely with team members and customers, perform daily safety inspections, and deliver high-quality repairs with a strong focus on timeliness and precision. This position has a target wage of$21.00 - $35.50perhour, based onshift,experienceand qualificationswith annual bonusavailable(variable dependingon performance).Overtime may be available.

Schedule

Sunday through Wednesday, 5:30pm-4:00am

• Will be responsible for satisfactorily completing safety training and annual technical training as determined by fleet manager.
• Operate equipment to verify proper operation; identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps and determine corrective action through the inspections of failed parts.
• Utilize shop computer for the diagnosis of equipment for Mack, Volvo, International, Hendrickson and any OEM Supplier as needed.
• Ability to utilize applicable software and pass ongoing online training.
• Must have appropriate mechanical tool set.
• Must follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations and use appropriate safety equipment.
• Ensures work orders are properly completed, and work repair task description is accurate to work completed.
• Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools.
• Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and respond to simple requests from others.
• Proficiently remove, clean, repair, reinstall and adjust vehicle components.
• Ability to follow specific instructions and respond to simple requests from others.
• Perform Road calls and emergency services as necessary in all weather.
• Select appropriate course of action for repairs.
• Evaluate completed work prior to release.
• Ability to train and lead other technicians in completing repair assignments.

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience.
• Must have a valid driver's' license.
• Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating repair shop equipment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills, bringing demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with all levels.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Minimum one-year technical training at an Accredited Technical School.
• CDL A preferred.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

• Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
• Required to sit, stand, walk use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell.
• Must be able to lay on back on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be free of any conditions which result in temporary loss of consciousness or ability to reason.
• Work is performed with exposure to noise, chemicals, noxious odors gases, poor ventilation, inclement weather, dirt, grease, dust and machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices.
