Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a full-time Fleet Mechanic in Sylmar, CA. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing fleet vehicles to keep drivers on the road delivering Lay’s, Doritos, and Cheetos. The position involves hands-on work, lifting and moving product, and working in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with experienced mechanics on repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and handle parts inventory while ensuring vehicles return to the traffic center when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• May require weekend/holiday/off-shift work.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more.
• Must be able to work in tight spaces for extended periods.
• Must be able to work on/under trucks during the shift (8–12 hours).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles, diagnosing issues and performing preventive maintenance.
• Assist experienced mechanics with complex repairs and troubleshooting.
• Return vehicles to the traffic center when needed (CDL required).
• Manage parts inventory and bill parts/labor to work orders using the system.
• Build relationships with vendors for part estimates or outside labor.
