Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role focuses on installing and supporting GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and other fleet technology across cars, trucks, tractors, and trailers.

If you’re an experienced mechanic expanding into fleet technology, your skills will transfer directly. You will perform 12V/24V wiring, route and secure wiring for clean installations, test system functionality, and document

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers.
21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
Occasionally work weekends or adjusted schedules to support customer projects, fleet installations, or business needs.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects, including occasional travel outside your assigned market based on business needs.
