Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking a Fleet Systems Maintenance Technician to perform skilled work in operation, maintenance, and repair of fleet fuel systems. You will inspect facilities for regulatory compliance, address mechanical issues, and support motor pool operations to keep vehicles ready for use.

The role requires 1 year of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and may require a CDL with hazardous materials endorsement.

Qualifications

1 year of work-related experience.
High School Diploma or GED.
UST Class A/B within 30 days of hire.
CDL with hazardous materials endorsement may be required.
Criminal history and MVR background checks are required.
Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of hire for county business.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, repair, and adjust mechanical components of liquid fuel systems.
Read fuel meters at shop facilities regularly.
Determine use and schedule deliveries to maintain constant supplies.
Inspect electrical wiring, switches, and controls for safe operation.
Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment as per regulations and manuals.
Maintain detailed service records and maintenance reports.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fueling systems.
