Job summary

Ruan Transportation Management Systems is seeking a full-time on-site supervisor in Wood Dale, Illinois. The role focuses on coaching and directing drivers, optimizing schedules, and maintaining safe, compliant operations.

You will oversee daily delivery plans, coordinate loads and backhauls, monitor performance, and ensure accurate data capture in the transportation management system.

Responsibilities

• Coach and counsel drivers in safety, performance, productivity and morale; supervise all activities of drivers.
• Direct and schedule drivers' work; plan, assign and distribute daily work; coordinate loads, equipment and backhauls for fleet utilization.
• Develop daily delivery plans utilizing equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure effective and efficient operation; organize transportation solutions for assigned customers to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors and other Ruan locations.
• Perform payroll, billing, driver counseling and post-accident reviews; participate in review and analysis of operating performance.
• Properly use the Ruan Transportation Management Systems to ensure data is captured in near real-time; monitor and promote safety and compliance with regulations.

Job description

This is a full-time position working onsite in Wood Dale, IL.
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday
Hours: 3:00 PM - Midnight

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to coach and counsel drivers in such areas as safety, performance, productivity and morale. Supervise all activities of drivers.
• Direct and schedule driver's work. Plan, assign, and distribute daily work to while coordinating loads, equipment and backhauls to achieve maximum utilization of the fleet.
• Manage work assignments. Develop daily delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure an effective, efficient operation. Organize, plan and implement transportation solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors and other Ruan locations
• Perform administrative functions to include payroll, billing, driver counseling and post-accident reviews.
• Participate in the review and analysis of operating performance.
• Properly use the Ruan transportation management systems to ensure all required operational data is accurately captured in a near real-time manner.
• Monitor and promote safety and compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations in all areas of the operation.
