Job summary

FedEx Freight in Alabama seeks a maintenance technician to assist with shop duties, performing preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers and fleet equipment. You will help with setup, records, safety inspections and parts handling.

Under supervision, you will maintain a clean work area, operate power tools, and comply with laws and company policies while supporting fleet maintenance and reporting duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Willing to be educated on lifting devices (jacks, etc.).
• Able to lift approximately 110 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to operate vehicles as directed.
• Able to enter/exit driver’s compartment safely.
• Strong teamwork and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with technicians to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Set up jobs and maintain shop equipment.
• Prepare electronic and manual records and reports.
• Assist with safety inspections and document work.
• Move parts to/from job site and install components.
• Support fleet maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Use power and hand tools under supervision.
• Follow applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
