Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a shop technician to assist with maintenance of tractors, trailers, and equipment. Under supervision, duties include inspections, repairs, and documentation to keep the fleet safe and efficient.

You will work with technicians to perform preventative maintenance, assist with shop setup, and maintain records. A valid driver's license and basic computer skills are required, with lifting up to 110 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willing to be educated on proper use of lifting devices.
• Able to lift components weighing about 110 pounds with assistance.
• Able to operate vehicles as directed.
• Ability to enter/exit driver’s compartment safely.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of tractors, trailers, and equipment.
• Support shop operations with job setup, cleaning, and equipment upkeep.
• Prepare electronic and manual records and reports.
• Assist with safety inspections and document work performed.
• Move parts to/from job site and install as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
