Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an entry-level vehicle maintenance assistant to support the shop in maintaining tractors, trailers and equipment. Under supervision you will assist with inspections, repairs, and documentation to keep the fleet safe and reliable.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and basic computer skills. You will lift parts, use hand tools, and help with safety checks while learning proper lifting devices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to lift approximately 110 pounds frequently
• Basic computer skills
• Willing to be educated on lifting devices and safe operation of jacks/equipment
• Able to operate vehicles as directed
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs with other technicians.
• Set up jobs, clean, and maintain shop equipment.
• Prepare electronic and manual records and reports.
• Assist with safety inspections and document the work.
• Move parts to and from the job site and install parts on vehicles.
• Assist with fleet maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Use power tools and hand tools as directed by leadership.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
