Job summary

Meridian Waste in Columbia, SC seeks an experienced Shop Manager to lead our maintenance team and keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. You will supervise drivers and helpers, align with the Area President on initiatives, and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, regulatory, and operating standards while delivering safety, customer experience, and efficiency.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of supervisory experience; Solid Waste industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• 3 years of related supervisory experience.
• Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Shop Manager is responsible for supervising the collections activities in one or more lines of business (commercial, residential, roll-off (industrial) and/or container delivery and pick up) in a geographically dispersed area.
• The Shop Manager oversees drivers and helpers and works with the Area President to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement.
• The Shop Manager ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards.
• Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting a culture of employee engagement.
