Job summary

TCI Transportation is seeking a Shop Service Manager to lead maintenance operations across multiple shop locations. You will supervise a team of skilled diesel technicians, ensuring safe, efficient fleet maintenance and strong customer service.

You will drive performance, recruit and develop talent, manage budgets, and promote continuous improvement while upholding DOT and OSHA standards. This is a growth-focused role in a family-owned company with a strong culture and opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of diesel technician experience.
• 5+ years of shop management or maintenance leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Solid computer proficiency and experience with maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of diesel technicians while reinforcing TCI's Core Values.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair operations to maximize fleet uptime.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
• Build lasting customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and resolving maintenance concerns.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top-performing technicians.
• Manage shop budgets, labor productivity, inventory, and operating costs.
• Drive continuous improvement through safety meetings, performance coaching, and operational best practices.
