Job summary

Savannah Logistics Group is seeking a Diesel Shop Manager to lead the shop team and oversee technicians, assistants, and pilot car drivers in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

You will direct shop planning, preventive maintenance, invoicing, budgeting, and compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations. Develop efficient SOPs, performance standards, and cost-effective maintenance across rolling assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 15 years related fleet/operations management experience.
• Minimum 10 years diesel technician experience.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSR regulations.
• Experience managing 10+ employees.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight and planning of the company shop and rolling assets.
• Develop SOPs, KPIs, standard repair times, and policies.
• Maintain safety policies and ensure DOT, FMCSA, OSHA compliance.
• Manage parts, inventory, budgeting and cost controls.
• Lead, train, and coach staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Provide regular reports to senior leadership.
