The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) seeks a skilled Fleet Service Technician to perform mechanical and electronic service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on a diverse fleet across Vermont. This position offers a sign-on and retention bonus up to $2000 and a negotiable starting salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years or more of experience in maintenance and service of light, medium, and/or heavy duty vehicles and equipment at the journeyman's level including experience in installation and service of vehicle and equipment related electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electronic service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment.
• Independently assess equipment needs, plan and prioritize work, and respond to unanticipated service needs.
• Handle emergency road repairs and maintain safe, reliable equipment for VTrans operations.
