Job summary

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a skilled Fleet Service Technician to perform mechanical and electronic service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on a diverse fleet of automobiles, heavy trucks, construction equipment, and snowplow and spreader systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and research skills, be able to plan and prioritize work, and respond to unanticipated service needs, while upholding safety and reliability across

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years in maintenance of light, medium, or heavy vehicles and equipment.
• At least 1 year as Fleet Technician I.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electronic service, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on a diverse fleet.
• Independently assess equipment needs, plan and prioritize work.
• Respond to unanticipated service needs and work in all weather conditions.
