Job summary

State of Vermont's Department of Public Safety in Colchester, VT seeks a Vehicle & Equipment Technician to maintain and repair a fleet of over 500 vehicles and equipment.

You'll work with a small team, perform LOF's, tires, brakes, tune-ups, emergency equipment installs, and vehicle striping, with occasional remote facility work and potential overtime.

Candidates must have several years of automotive experience, a valid Vermont driver's license, and be willing to provide their own tools.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years or more of experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing automotive equipment.
• Completion of trade school or technician program, or other relevant training or certification.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A Vermont Inspection license within 60 days of employment.
• Incumbent must provide the tools required for this position.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform LOF's, tires, brakes, tune-ups, emergency equipment install, and striping and lettering of vehicles.
• In some cases, the position will be dispatched with the flat bed to recover disabled vehicles.
• Work with a team of Fleet professionals responsible for over 500 vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
