Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits in Geismar, LA is seeking a DOT Compliance Lead to ensure safety and regulatory adherence for the delivery fleet. The role collaborates with Operations Leadership and Logistics Managers to certify drivers meet FMCSR requirements and company policies.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DOT compliance, holds a Certified Transportation Professional or equivalent, and can train and coach staff on safety programs, incident reporting, and regulatory updates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in DOT compliance or equivalent.
• Certified Transportation Professional within 12 months.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Smith System Driving Instructor within six months.
• STS certification within two years.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Strong FMCSR knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual preferred English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Ensure transportation associates comply with safety policies.
• Investigate and report vehicle collisions per policy.
• Train staff on incident reporting procedures.
• Review investigations and determine preventability.
• Create Vehicle Collision Review Committees.
• Train supervisors on Lytx and Geotab Telematics.
• Monitor ELD and EDVIR compliance with FMCSRs.
• Track fleet KPIs and safety metrics.
• Conduct DOT regulatory training (HOS, DQ, DVIR, drug/alcohol).
• Conduct ride-alongs to improve safety.
