Job summary

Buyers Barricades is a leading traffic control company seeking a Fleet Safety Manager to build, lead, and continuously improve our fleet safety program. This hands-on role focuses on driver development, telematics-based coaching, incident reduction, and operational safety across all locations.

The Fleet Safety Manager will partner with operations, safety, HR, and leadership to embed safe driving practices, develop training materials, evaluate driver performance, and deliver data-driven safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years in fleet, transportation, driver, or operational safety.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and conduct driver evaluations.
• Experience with Samsara or similar telematics systems.
• Knowledge of defensive driving, inspections, load securement, deliveries, and fleet safety.
• Strong data, communication, coaching, organization, and investigation skills.
• Ability to analyze telematics data and identify safety trends.
• Ability to work independently and across multiple locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the fleet safety program across all locations.
• Develop, implement, and enforce fleet safety policies, procedures, checklists, and training materials.
• Establish, communicate, and reinforce practical driver-performance and vehicle-safety expectations company-wide.
• Serve as the primary fleet safety resource for branch managers, operations, drivers, and field employees.
• Identify operational risks, recurring trends, and improvement priorities; communicate recommendations to leadership and drive timely corrective action.
• Maintain incident records, track corrective-action completion, analyze trends, and report recurring concerns to leadership.
• Coordinate post-incident safety communications, driver coaching, road evaluations, retraining, and follow-up inspections.
