Job summary

Legacy Healthcare is seeking a Fleet Safety Manager to lead the safety program for its regional trucking operations. You will report to the President and build the safety system from the ground up, ensuring regulatory compliance and a culture of safety across the organization.

Responsibilities include policy development, driver coaching, incident investigations, audits, and performance metric reviews. A Bachelor's in Safety is required with strong communication and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety/Safety Management required.
• Minimum 2 years in transportation industry experience.
• FMCSA, OSHA and transportation safety knowledge required.
• Excellent communication, coaching and organizational skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in office software and routing/safety industry software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
• Coach and train drivers, ops staff and managers on regulations.
• Investigate accidents, perform root cause analyses, implement actions.
• Lead safety audits, inspections and risk management processes.
• Provide hands-on training for vehicle inspections, load securement and maneuvers.
• Oversee driver qualifications, hours of service and DOT drug/alcohol compliance.
• Collaborate with maintenance vendors to uphold vehicle standards.
• Interface with insurance carriers and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct weekly incident reviews and monthly safety meetings; monitor KPIs.
