Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools Transportation Department seeks a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily bus operations, ensure safety and reliability, and lead a diverse staff. Responsibilities include directing staff, coordinating with schools and families, budgeting, and strategic planning to improve district transportation services.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: at least three (3) years supervising staff in transportation or related ops.
• Licensing: CDL with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and monitor daily bus operations to ensure safe, on-time service.
• Assign routes, schedule activity trips, and adjust coverage for staffing or emergencies.
• Oversee inspections, maintenance, fueling, and recordkeeping for DOT compliance.
• Monitor road/weather conditions and recommend route changes or closures.
• Maintain operating procedures for routing, dispatch, checks, safety, and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with schools, families, and community stakeholders to support student success.
