Job summary

Warren CAT in Odessa, TX seeks a Rental Service Manager to direct and coordinate rental service activities across facilities, installing and repairing equipment in the fleet. You will establish maintenance standards, supervise up to 15 staff, and train mechanics, ensuring efficient utilization and cost control.

The role requires strong administrative skills, CAT product experience, and ability to manage parts, labor, and customer relations to keep operations moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• Four year degree or 5-10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Specific brand training on fleet equipment.
• Five years experience with Caterpillar product lines.
• Ability to teach other mechanics how to maintain and repair equipment.
• Strong administrative and relationship skills to keep repair tasks flowing and document costs.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical and regulatory material.
• Technical background related field.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate rental service activities across multiple establishments.
• Establish and maintain service records for all equipment in the rental fleet.
• Set shop priorities to maximize fleet utilization and productivity.
• Order and receive spare parts and maintain inventory levels.
• Allocate parts expense and shop labor to machines via work orders.
• Schedule maintenance intervals (250 hour, 500 hour, etc.).
• Train mechanics and schedule manufacturers training.
• Set up and maintain shop tools supply for service personnel.
• Invoice customers for damages with manager approval.
• Identify outsourcing opportunities for repair work.
• Handle customer service calls for equipment failures and follow up.
• Decide on repair vs. exchange at job sites in consultation with Rental Manager.
• Engage in customer training on daily maintenance and safe operation.
• Notify Rental Application Specialist before billing for damages.
• Establish maintenance and repair standards per equipment piece.
• Directly supervise up to 15 employees.
