Job summary

Kenworth Truck Co. in Chillicothe, OH seeks a Fleet Program Manager to integrate fleet customers into the manufacturing process, aligning fleet specifications and quality with minimal production disruption and maximum customer satisfaction.

This leadership role partners with Sales, Service, Operations and Engineering to drive strategies, manage day-to-day Fleet Program activities, coordinate pre-build and pilot reviews, and ensure timely issue resolution across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in an industry field required.
  • 7+ years engineering/operations experience; manufacturing background preferred.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience managing 3+ employees.
  • Strong communication, cross-functional teamwork, and project management.
  • Heavy-Duty Truck/Automotive product knowledge.
  • Six Sigma belt trained.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary Chillicothe Plant representative in fleet relationship matters, including customer visits.
  • Manage the activities of the Fleet Program on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead pre-build actions, customer pilot reviews (plant and customer locations), and post-build actions/feedback.
  • Communicate fleet needs and impressions to Kenworth Leadership Team.
  • Recommend improvement projects based on direct customer feedback.
  • Facilitate cross-functional resolution with Operations, Quality, Materials, Dealers, Customers, Division Engineering, Sales & Field Service.
  • Prepare and provide performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Travel up to 30-50%.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requisition Summary

Kenworth is seeking an innovative and results-oriented individual. This leadership role will be responsible for integrating fleet customers into the manufacturing process. The Fleet Program Manager works closely with Sales, Service, Customers, Operations and Resident Engineering to build and drive strategies for effectively implementing unique configurations of fleet customers and insure that fleet specifications and quality requirements are achieved with minimal production flow impact and maximize customer satisfaction.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary Chillicothe Plant representative in fleet relationship matters include customer visits and handling of issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage the activities of the Fleet Program on a day-to-day basis.
  • Lead the activities associated with pre-build actions, customer pilot reviews (both at the plant and at customer locations), and post build actions/feedback.
  • Communicating fleet needs and impressions to the Kenworth Leadership Team.
  • Recommend improvement projects based on direct customer feedback.
  • Facilitate activities with Operations, Quality, Materials, Dealers, Customers, Division Engineering, Sales & Field Service to ensure timely resolution of product related issues to exceed the expectations of our identified fleet customers.
  • Prepare and provide performance feedback to direct reports.
  • Travel up to 30-50%.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in industry related field.
  • 7+ years of engineering or operations experience, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 3+ years prior supervisory experience managing 3+ employees.
  • Effective communicator and facilitator.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional team environment.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented production environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to lead a dynamic team of strong contributors, provide ongoing technical and developmental guidance.
  • Experience working with customers
  • Heavy-Duty Truck and/or Automotive product knowledge required including mechanical, electrical and software systems.
  • Product Development Tollgate Process familiarity and experience.
  • Familiarity and experience with related PC business applications including: CICS/CMS80, PCMS, VOG, Windchill/Creo, EWI, ePortal, and Prospector.
  • Six Sigma Belt trained.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products.

  • Commercial Driver's License
