Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, seeks a Program Manager to lead complex product development programs in a matrixed environment. The role involves coordinating across multiple departments, managing scope, schedule, and budgets, and ensuring program quality and PPAP readiness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10+ years experience with increasing responsibility in project development or related functions with demonstrated leadership success.
  • Experience managing stage-gate projects within matrixed organizations spanning multiple locations and countries.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to communicate complicated topics clearly; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations for senior management; influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Data Visualization Software; Six Sigma training may be preferred.
  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred; willing to earn within 12 months if not already certified.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate product development program activities across multiple departments and PACCAR divisions.
  • Deliver programs on time and on budget; develop, track and manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Communicate up, down, and across the organization, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain programs in the tollgate phases and write business plans for approvals.
  • Lead efforts to achieve 100% PPAP approval prior to Volume Validation builds.
  • Manage successful production implementation.
  • Travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, is seeking a Program Manager with a BS/BA degree and 8+ years of industry-related experience. This role will be responsible for managing program development in a matrixed organization to meet program objectives, including schedule, scope, budget, communication, issue management, and program quality. This assignment is in Kirkland, WA.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Coordinate product development program activities across multiple departments at Kenworth, other PACCAR divisions, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and suppliers.
  • Deliver assigned programs on time, on budget, while meeting program objectives. Develop, track and manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization, including to Senior Management, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintain assigned programs in the appropriate tollgate phase.
  • Write business plans and obtain approval.
  • Lead efforts to obtain 100% PPAP approval prior to Volume Validation builds.
  • Manage successful production implementation.
  • Travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8-10+ years experience with increasing responsibility in project development or related functions with demonstrated leadership success required.
  • Experience successfully managing stage-gate projects within matrixed organizations spanning multiple locations and countries, preference for projects that have significant software content and/or electrified components.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complicated topics; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Develop and deliver effective presentations, including those for senior management
    • influence without direct authority
    • manage multiple tasks, take initiative, be a strong team player and a problem-solver
    • perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Data Visualization Software
    • Six Sigma training
    • Commercial truck product knowledge
    • Working with or in production environments
  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred. If a candidate does not currently have a certification, they must be willing to earn one within 12 months of satisfying the experience requirements for the certification.

The salary range for Program Manager is $119,100 - $186,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
