Job summary

Young Brothers is seeking a Port Engineer in Honolulu to direct and oversee operational readiness, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the 8-vessel tug fleet valued over $100M. You will manage budgets, supervise a team of engineers and mechanics, and act as the primary technical authority for inspections, surveys, and dry-dockings.

This role requires a USCG engineer license or DDE, strong leadership, and experience in maritime operations, safety culture, and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

  • Requires a USCG engineer license or DDE.
  • Maritime academy or college degree preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets and large maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversees maintenance, repairs, and regulatory compliance for the tug fleet.
  • Manage capital budgets and annual maintenance expenditures.
  • Lead a team of engineers and mechanics; develop safety culture and training.
  • Coordinate vessel inspections, surveys, and dry-docking with regulatory bodies.
