Job summary

Pursuit seeks a Port Engineer to lead maintenance for our vessel and vehicle fleet in Alaska. You will ensure safe operations, manage long-term repair plans, and guide junior engineers while coordinating with captains and our Transportation Coordinator.

The role requires deep expertise in diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, and marine electronics, with a strong emphasis on USCG standards and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 10 years of marine maintenance experience with USCG Subchapter T knowledge.
• Technical certification or formal training as a marine technician/engineer strongly preferred.
• Proven troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and marine electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance on fleet of vessels and vehicles, document activities in Helm Connect and Limble.
• Manage maintenance plans with the Maintenance Manager, ensuring safety and cost efficiency.
• Oversee daily tasks of the Assistant Port Engineers and coordinate with Captains and Transportation Coordinator.
• Assist with inspections of vital safety systems and ensure deficiencies are rectified.
• Provide guidance on repairs and maintenance and stress scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Oversee warehouse operations and parts inventory to minimize downtime during summer months.
