Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the Fleet Shop's parts, materials, tools, and supplies inventory.
• Receive, inspect, stock, label, issue, and track incoming parts and materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder parts and supplies.
• Research and source truck, vehicle, and equipment parts using part numbers and vendor resources.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, ordering, and delivery.
• Prepare requisitions and assist with purchase orders and purchasing activities.
• Coordinate parts returns and backorders; manage related paperwork.
• Maintain accurate parts and inventory data in the CMMS.
• Coordinate with mechanics and management to ensure parts are available for repairs.
• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Track open work orders, repairs, and maintenance backlogs.
• Assist with tracking maintenance costs and fleet data.
• Maintain a clean, safe Fleet Shop and inventory area.
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify housekeeping concerns and address them.

Job description

TFC Recycling is seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Fleet Parts & Maintenance Specialist to support our Fleet Maintenance Department.

This position plays an important role in keeping our Fleet Shop operating efficiently. The Fleet Parts & Maintenance Specialist will coordinate and maintain parts and supplies, support maintenance work orders and purchasing activities, assist with preventive maintenance scheduling, and ensure technicians have the parts and materials needed to maintain and repair TFC's fleet.

This position will also help ensure our facilities are clean, organized, and properly maintained by monitoring housekeeping services, conducting routine facility walkthroughs, communicating concerns, and following up to ensure identified issues are addressed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the Fleet Shop's parts, materials, tools, and supplies inventory.
• Receive, inspect, stock, label, issue, and track incoming parts and materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify parts and supplies that need to be reordered.
• Research and source truck, vehicle, and equipment parts using part numbers, vendor resources, manuals, and other available information.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, ordering, and delivery of parts and supplies.
• Prepare requisitions and assist with purchase orders and purchasing activities for the Fleet Maintenance Department.
• Coordinate parts returns, warranties, core returns, incorrect shipments, and backordered items.
• Maintain accurate parts, inventory, purchasing, and work-order information in the company's computerized maintenance management system.
• Coordinate with mechanics, technicians, leads, and management to ensure necessary parts and materials are available for scheduled and unscheduled repairs.
• Assist with planning and scheduling preventive maintenance and repair work for company vehicles and equipment.
• Track open work orders, pending repairs, maintenance backlogs, and parts awaiting delivery.
• Assist management with tracking repair history, parts usage, maintenance costs, and other fleet-related information.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Fleet Shop parts and inventory area.
• Monitor housekeeping services throughout company facilities to ensure established cleanliness and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify housekeeping, cleanliness, and general facility concerns.
• Communicate deficiencies, special cleaning needs, and other housekeeping concerns to housekeeping personnel or service providers and follow up to ensure completion.
• Monitor housekeeping and facility supplies and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Identify routine facility repair or maintenance concerns and communicate them to the appropriate department, manager, or vendor for resolution.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, step ladders, and other material-handling equipment as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The purchasing and parts functions are consistent with the current description, which specifically assigns the role responsibility for researching work-order needs, preparing requisitions, working with purchasing on accurate purchases and POs, and assisting with maintenance cost and repair data.
