Job summary

STS Recycling LLC is seeking a Fleet Operator Assistant to support CDL and non-CDL Fleet Operators in safe, timely transportation of goods. You will assist with loading/unloading, cargo securing, and vehicle inspections while coordinating with drivers and warehouse staff.

The role requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and strong teamwork across driving, warehousing, and customer interactions. Training and safety commitments are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Maintain an acceptable MVR.
• Preferably 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math for inventory tracking, log maintenance, and documentation.
• Strong oral communication skills for dispatch, drivers, and customers.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
• Pass all required drug and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Fleet Operators in loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper handling and securement.
• Verify shipment documentation for accuracy between manifests, labels, and cargo details.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and report maintenance concerns.
• Organize and stage cargo for transport, optimizing space in trucks and vans.
• Provide navigation, route planning, and traffic management assistance as needed.
• Maintain transport-related documentation including delivery confirmations and trip logs.
• Follow all company policies and safety regulations for vehicle operation and freight handling.
• Report accidents, vehicle malfunctions, or irregularities promptly.
